In a recent development in the on-going Raj Kundra pornographic case, some shocking new allegations have been made against the businessman and actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband.
According to mid-day, Arvind Srivastava who is also known as Yash Thakur and is an absconding accused had emailed a complaint to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in March, alleging that Kundra paid bribe of Rs 25 lakh to Crime Branch. Thakur further added that Raj Kundra did the same to avoid getting arrested in the case. The ACB had reportedly forwarded the mail to the Mumbai police chief’s office in April, however the city officers have refused to comment on the same.
As per the report, the email complaint also included screenshots of the alleged bribe chat but did not refer to Kundra. A senior-level ACB officer told Mid-Day, “The ACB investigates only if there is demand for money and it can lay a trap. Since, in this case, the money had already exchanged hands, as alleged, the complaint was forwarded to the concerned department (Mumbai police) to initiate an action.”
It is to be noted that Yash Thakur was named as the racket’s kingpin in March. On the other hand the Mumbai Crime Branch is extensively investigating Raj Kundra’s involvement in the alleged pornographic case, while he is in police custody. On Friday, Kundra was snapped outside Byculla jail post his medical examination. For the uninitiated, on late Monday night Raj Kundra was arrested for allegedly making pornographic content and publishing them through mobile applications. He along with his partner Ryan Tharp has been sent to police custody till July 23.
So far the crime branch has raided his house and has recovered 70 videos shot by Kundra’s former PA Umesh Kamat with the help of different production houses.
